The organiser of Germany’s Bauma exhibition, Messe München GmbH, is to hold its first construction equipment exhibition in China.
China has seen massive investment in infrastructure in recent years. With its entry into the World Trade organisation and with the Olympic Games coming to Beijing in 2008, the pace of development is expected to accelerate further.
In 2000 China imported $2.44bn worth of construction machiner yand building materials machinery, according to Messe München. Truck and tower cranes accounted for 2.7% of this.
Bauma China 2002 will be held on a 65,000m2 exhibition area at the Shanghai New International Expo Center in the Pudong district of Shanghai, from 5 to 8 November 2002.
