Bearing higher speeds

NSK has developed a new series of spherical roller bearings, the HPS series, which are claimed to have twice the running life of conventional bearings, and a maximum limiting running speed that has been improved by up to 20%. Says the company: “Compared with other types of bearings, spherical roller bearings (SRBs) have a higher load capacity and self-aligning feature that allows for some misalignment of the axis of rotation.
