The two companies, both based at Esbjerg, Denmark, established the two-year contract after several years of working together on rig and infrastructure projects.

Thomas Bek, global head of oil, energy and industrial projects at Blue Water, said: "For many years, we have transported almost all types of cargo, from small packages to entire oil rigs, to every corner of the world. We have established a large international network of own offices and both companies are represented at many of the same oil and gas key locations worldwide. This gives Semco Maritime the opportunity of being close to our regional experts who have great knowledge of the local conditions."

Roderick McNeil, corporate procurement manager at Semco Maritime, said: "Blue Water’s global experience of working in the energy and offshore business, their understanding of supporting a project-based environment like Semco Maritime’s, and their flexible approach to meeting the diverse needs of Semco Maritime and our customers’ projects, means that we are confident that we have the basis for a successful working relationship in the coming years."
