The purchase comes as part of an ongoing programme to build BMS’s fleet. BMS MD Søren Jansen told Cranes Today that the company plans to spend EUR24m over the next two years on further orders. This investment is planned to be paced over this period, so it can be funded from capital, not debt. It will include a number of further purchases of cranes in the same capacity class as the AC 600-1, as BMS seeks to offer its customers more cranes for heavier lifts.
The other cranes in the order are: one Terex Demag AC 50, 50 tonnes; Three Terex Demag AC 80s, 80 tonnes; One Liebherr LTM 1095, 95 tonnes; One Liebherr LTM 1160, 160 tonnes; One Liebherr LTM 1220, 220 tonnes; One Grove 4080, 80 tonnes; One Grove 4100, 100 tonnes; One Grove 5100, 100 tonnes; Two Grove 5220s, 220 tonnes.
