The Brazilian firm deals primarily in the rental of Liebherr tower cranes, and is one of the biggest suppliers in the country.
While director of Construservice, Carlos Muzzi Neto describes the past year as “difficult”, he believes Brazil’s construction industry is looking much brighter for the second half of this year and beyond.
Neto said: “There is always a demand for tower cranes. But the old adage about the health of a nation’s economy being measurable by the number of tower cranes you can see working is certainly true.”
The firm is now looking forward to growth in the housing and infrastructure industries, after suffering from the worldwide recession.
In housing, the federal government is investing in the construction of one million houses in the programme, “Minha Casa, Minha Vida” (My House, My Life), which aims to tackle the housing deficit in Brazil.
A presidential decree has recently been signed to make it easier for private companies to conduct work in the country. This is expected to cause an increase in civil construction.
Construservice owns 55 tower cranes, 26 of which are Liebherrs, and around 20 are Brazilian-made.
Construservice recently supplied four Liebherr 110 EC-B tower cranes and a Liebherr 98.3 HC for the State Administrative Centre in Minas Gerais; the organisation was brought in after the state government decided that contractors for the project should use tower cranes throughout construction, rather than traditional material hoists often used in Brazil.
The firm has also recently purchased six new Liebherr 110 EC-B6 flat-top tower cranes from Liebherr Brazil, in Sao Paulo.
