German lifting contractor Breuer & Wasel Schwerlastlogistik has taken delivery of a Demag AC 500-1 SSL telescopic crane, the second 500 tonner in its fleet. It has also ordered an AC 350 SSL and two AC 60 cranes from Demag.
The SSL designation signifies that the cranes are fitted with the Sideways Superlift attachment which increases lifting capacity by up to 200%. Capacity increase is greatest where the boom is fully extended and lifting at low radii close to the column. ‘Particularly in the applications which are so important for our company, the SSL technology offers major performance enhancing potential,’ said Thomas and Matthias Wasel, the two partners and directors of Breuer & Wasel Schwerlastlogistik. ‘In deciding on which crane to take, this was a decisive factor in our deliberations.’
