Kobelco Cranes’s UK sales manager, Brown, left the company at the end of December 2012, but will continue to work in a consultative capacity for a limited time, the company said. Brown joined Kobelco Cranes when the company was formed in the year 2000, and played a key role in establishing the Kobelco brand in Europe and other parts of the world.

"Andrew Brown is highly regarded and respected throughout the crane industry, both in the UK and many other parts of the world", said Mr Masayuki Kimura, managing director of Kobelco Cranes Europe. "His lifetime experience as a dedicated crawler crane specialist has been invaluable in the successful introduction of Kobelco crawler cranes, with their leading edge all-hydraulic technology. We wish him a happy and well-earned retirement".

Brown, who has spent his whole career in the crane industry, said: "It is fascinating to look back, not just at the technical advances and performance of crawler cranes, but also the changes amongst the manufacturers and their distribution networks. But for me personally, the most gratifying aspect has been the pleasure of dealing with the customers who are biggest-hearted individuals you could wish to meet – and I will miss all of that."

Taking over the position of UK Sales Manager is Mark Evans. Evans has been involved in crane sales and lifting operations in the UK and in the Middle East.
