The concept of the new Cavotec Alfo CLT reels is to provide a modular system that retains all the quality and reliability of a standard spring driven cable reel.
At least four single components are necessary to get a spring operating cable reel: drum body, drum walls, slipring body and connecting flange.
The Alfo CLT reel is the first product available in components. The Cavotec Alfo CLT spring reels allow a great number of combinations covering most common requirements. All reels are equipped with two, totally sealed bearings which are lubricated for life.
?Massimo Rustioni of Cavotec Alfo explains: “In this case the modular design allows for easy storage and thanks to the innovative design of the reels, replacing just one part is extremely easy. That reel does work exactly as a standard spring reel. The installation flange fits to the same as a standard reel – a replacement of that system is also very easy.”
As Massimo Rustioni states, “The shipping cost of a small cable reel for overseas countries can be comparable to the price of the same reel. Cutting dramatically the transport cost gives the possibility to open new markets keeping the production site not delocalized.”

A spring reel customer does not accept (in most of cases) a longer delivery time than 2-3 week, the company says. To reach a customer far away from our manufacturing unit we loose already that time in transport or lose in case of transport cost. Our way therefore is to get a reel to the local market before the customer place an order.
