A new production hall which will help increase output capacity by up to 50% is under construction at Liebherr’s mobile crane factory at Ehingen, Germany. The building measures 372m long, 100m wide and 25m high. It is scheduled to be in service by spring 2001 and will be used for the final stages of production of all Liebherr mobile cranes. The extension will bring Liebherr-Werk Ehingen’s total covered manufacturing area to 123,000m2, raising capacity from 1,000 cranes a year to 1,500. The entire factory site is 535,000m2.
