UK heavylift specialist Baldwins Industrial Services has announced three new contract awards: one in the USA and two in the UK, worth a total of approximately £3.6m ($5m).
The contract gains are: • King Mountain Wind Farm, Texas, USA: order value £2.3m ($3.2m). The wind power project in western Texas will feature 220 white wind turbines, each capable of generating 1.3 megawatts of electricity. The turbines are about 200 feet tall, weighing 143,000 pounds each and have three rotating blades, each measuring 150 feet long.
•Texaco Pembroke ULSG Project, UK: a 6 month crane supply contract in South Wales worth £500,000 ($700,000m).
• Conoco FCC Upgrade 2001, UK: contract value £850,000 ($1.2m). The replacement of a reactor head in Humberside, using a 1,200t crane and specialist craneage for the repair of damage incurred at the station in April.
