The conference has a power and energy theme the first morning. Those speaking on energy-project related projects include Erkki Hanhirova, president of Finnish crane rental company Havator, Bryan Cronie, Mammoet safety, Keith Anderson, Bechtel rigging manager, Les Brown, chairman of PSC Fagioli, as well as a joint presentation from Derrick Bailes of the LEEA and Mike Rock, industrial safety manager of RWE npower.

The conference also features a special workshop on wire rope failures led by wire rope designer Roland Verreet, head of Wire Rope Technology.

UK HSE specialist investigator Ian Simpson and Christoph Schneider of Liebherr, among others, are due to speak in a tower crane safety section.

Kimmo Hytonen, managing director of controls firm Innocrane, Mike Palmer and Dai Davies of British Nuclear Group, Sellafield, Jean Paul Vedrenne, technical director of French inspection company Norisko Equipment, and Frans Busschots, ABB crane project manager, Belgium, are due to speak during a factory crane session.

There will also be a workshop on developing a safety culture on construction sites, led by psychologist Dr. Bill Robb. At the same time, Crane inspectors Walter Heinrich and Kjell Andersson of Finnish certification body Inspecta are leading a technical workshop on hook cracking and condition monitoring.
