This year’s conference focuses on power: the safety regimes and lifting equipment requirements of contractors in construction and maintenance of power generation and upstream and downstream oil and gas operations.
Now in its sixth year, the Crane Safety conference has established a reputation as the world’s premier crane safety event, attracting the lifting industry’s leading lights.
Confirmed speakers so far this year include Bryan Cronie, Mammoet safety director, on the aftermath of a 2005 crane accident in Qatar; Les Brown, chairman, Fagioli PSC, Alternative lifting in power and petrochemical operations – strand jacking and tower systems; Dai Davies and Mike Palmer, BNG Sellafield, Safety requirements for lifting and overhead cranes at Sellafield; Walter Heinrich and Kjell Andersson, crane inspectors, Inspecta, Finland, lead an afternoon workshop on condition monitoring and factory crane hook fatigue cracking.
