The crane is an under-the-hook lifting attachment designed to replace landing platforms and hoists. It lifts and positions a loaded pallet directly onto any floor and enables the operator to maneuver the top arm onto the upper floor until it lies flush. The load is then gently lowered onto the floor below.

With a sophisticated pulley structure that attaches to the crane cable, the “Magic Arm” ensures that the load weight is carried by the crane’s cable and not by the arm. Easily navigated around the perimeter of the structure, the crane lifts loads to a non-enclosed side of any floor.

Signal-Rite, LLC, said the crane reduces labour, expense and time by eliminating the installation and repositioning of cantilevered or balcony-type platforms. It claims that the crane is easy to use without the need for complicated training of the crane operators and workers.

Signal-Rite added that safety is enhanced because materials are delivered directly into the structure floor where needed, thus eliminating the need for workmen to reach and pull loads inside.

The crane was invented by Eitan Leobovitz, chairman of Israel-based company ConTex. He said: “Everybody is trying to bring the load inside the building – I brought the crane inside the building.”

The “Magic Arm” comes in five standard models but special units are also available upon request.
