With no minimum bids or reserve prices, the auction, which will house more than 2,000 other heavy equipment items and trucks, is expected to attract bidders from all corners of the globe.
Ritchie Brothers recently announced a company record of 918 crane sales between January and June 2010.
Since 1998, over 1,700 cranes have been sold at the Houston site, more than at any of its other 43 auction sites across the world. Alan McVicker, Ritchie Brothers regional manager, said: “Houston is a hotbed for crane sales because the petrochemical plants in the Gulf area need cranes to operate. With the Port of Houston within 26 miles of the auction site, it’s very affordable and easy for buyers to purchase and ship cranes and equipment from Houston to anywhere in the world.”
The auction is set to include over 35 cranes from Maxim Crane Works.
Cranes for sale include a 2008 Terex RT1120 120 USt rough terrain crane; a 2008 Tadano GR800XL 80 USt rough terrain crane; a 2006 Link-Belt 138H 80 USt crawler crane; and a 2001 Manitowoc 111 Series B 80 USt crawler crane.
The auction will be held on Thursday 26 and Friday 27 August, 2010, starting at 8am, with free registration to bid and public bidders welcome.
