The 220 USt capacity 2008 Manitowoc Model 14000 lattice boom crawler crane was sold to a buyer from Texas for USD1.275m. A second 220 USt 2008 Manitowoc Model 14000 was sold to a buyer from California for USD1.2m.

The two cranes were part of a portfolio of 40 items being sold for Energy Transportation Inc at the unreserved public auction at Ritchie Brothers’ permanent auction site in Denver on 20 October. The auction included more than 30 cranes, and attracted more than 1,600 on-site and online bidders from more than 25 countries around the world.

More than 16 Grove rough terrain cranes were sold at the auction, including a 75 USt 2005 Grove RT875E and a 60 USt 2005 Grove RT760E to a buyer from Ecuador. A Los Angeles buyer purchased a 130 USt 2006 Grove RT9130E for USD670,000. Other cranes sold at the auction included all terrain, truck and carry deck models.

“End users from all over the world participated on-site and over the internet on auction day and were particularly interested in the large selection of unused and late model cranes being sold,” said Steve Merich, regional manager for Ritchie Brothers. “The performance of the cranes far exceeded our expectations and those of our consignors.”
