UK hire firm and Zoomlion importer Crowland Cranes tested the newest and largest crane in its rental fleet, a Tadano ATF220G-5, during its first job at Port Sutton Bridge.

The new Tadano Faun ATF220G-5 crane was delivered by Tadano’s distributor, Cranes UK, earlier this month. It has a lifting capacity of 220t and a maximum lift height of 110m.

This is the fifth Tadano in Crowland Cranes' fleet of 19 cranes. The fleet, including truck mounted and all terrain cranes, is the largest in East Anglia. It replaces an 180t five axle Grove GMK5180.

Pete Issitt, managing director at Crowland Cranes, said: “The new crane is part of our continued investment, proving that steady development and growth can be maintained in a financially restricted world.”

The purpose of the lift was to remove freight from a ship docked in the River Nene. The two electric cranes and four diesel cranes currently in operation in Port Sutton wharf were not used.
