The AC 100/4’s maximum boom length is 77m (250ft) with a new design of five-section 50m (164ft) main boom and 27m (89ft) boom extension. With the boom extended to 33m length and with maximum counterweight, the crane can lift more than 23t (25 US tons) at 10m radius. With 27t counterweight, it can lift 12t at 10m.

The Liebherr LTM 1100-4.1 has
a 52m boom and lattice-jib extension ranging from 11m-33m. The crane’s operational weight is 48t and total counterweight is 22t.

Terex-Demag says that the AC 100/4 is the only crane in its class with a 2.6m (8.4 ft) width even with 16.00R24 tyres (it is 10.4m,
34 ft, long). “This opens up new, viable applications for customers, such as rapid machine assembly and dismantling, or utilisation in refineries,” the company said.

The crane also comes with four-position outriggers. The crane’s carrier power comes from a water-cooled DaimlerChrysler engine with a power output of 335kW/445 HP at 2,000 RPM. It has rear-axle drive, although a front axle can also be activated to drive. A 130kW/177 HP engine powers the superstructure.

The first model will be delivered by March 2007. A compact version of the crane is also planned.
