The NT chassis reduces the width of the the 600t capacity at 10m radius (125t at 102m hook height) lattice boom crane’s fixed crawlers to 5m, cutting the cost of building and then removing roads on inaccessible wind turbine sites. Demag designers have also focussed on increasing the crawler’s agility: the Quadro-Drive system allows the crane to make 360° turns on the spot, while a lowered centre of gravity means that it can safely be safely moved while standing at an angle of 2.4°. At the system’s launch, Terex were even able to show it tackling a 4° sideways incline.
