Equipos del Centro of Venezuela placed an order for a Demag CC 8800 at the Conexpo show in Las Vegas last month.
The crawler crane, rated at 1,250t, was launched by Demag in November 2001. At launch, the manufacturer announced that it had already received orders from Marino Crane of the USA (two units), GH Heavy Lift of Saudi Arabia, Al Jaber of the UAE and Sterling Crane of Canada. The Venezuelan order is the sixth for this monster machine which has a maximum load moment of 20,640tm.
The first unit is now being shipped to Marino and is expected to arrive later this month.
Demag also reports that the show surpassed its expectations, selling a number of City class cranes and generating interest in its AC 350 SSL (the butterfly attachment) and in the new AC 200-1.
