Messe München said the new halls will take the total exhibition space to 555,000 sq m, a new record for the show, and provide more space for construction equipment and tools, and formworks and scaffolding. Messe München said demand for exhibition space in these areas has been particularly high.

“This development shows that in a tough economic climate, Bauma remains a milestone in the trade fair calendar of the sector, and that this sector is determined to demonstrate its innovative capabilities at the world’s leading trade fair,” said Eugene Egetenmeir, from Messe München.

Messe München is also planning to make changes to the visitor flow at Bauma 2010, including adding a new entrance in the northwest of the showground, and closing a road on the site to allow easier visitor movement between some of the open-air spaces.

Bauma 2010 takes place at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre on 19-25 April, 2010.
