The mobile crane division
of Mannesmann Dematic Corporation in the USA has relocated from Cleveland, Ohio to a new facility in Ladson, South Carolina which combines sales, service and spare parts.
“Cleveland is not very suitable for the mobile crane division. We need to be nearer a harbour,” Eberhard Kuhn, managing director of Mannesmann Dematic’s mobile crane business told Cranes Today earlier this year (Mannesmann in motion Jun99, p28).
The US operation also has a new chief, Karl-Heinz Ott, previously president of Mannesmann Dematic South Africa.
