Manufacturer Mannesmann Dematic of Germany has set up a new subsidiary in the United Arab Emirates.
Mannesmann Dematic (Middle East) FZE is based in the free port area of Jebel Ali in Dubai. General manager is Christian Spiess.
In spite of a fall in the price of oil, the UAE in general, and Dubai in particular, are undergoing a new construction boom with, it seems, any building built before 1980 being torn down and reconstructed to higher standards. Last year Kobelco returned to the Middle East after an absence of some years and also chose Dubai as its base.
