The German company explained that since 2009 ithad suffered heavily from the consequences of the global economic and financial crisis and had been going through a restructuring process. Despite the proposed insolvency the firm’s chief executive Brunhilde Rauscher-Doll said: "The relevant course for the restructuring and reorganisation process has already been set".

Doll Sachsen was also forced to file for insolvency, with Martin Mucha also appointed as the preliminary insolvency administrator.

The business operations of Doll Fahrzeugbau AG and Doll Sachsen GmbH will be continued under the supervision of the preliminary insolvency administrator without restrictions. The business is to be redeveloped as part of the ongoing insolvency proceedings, whilst the search for a suitable investor for Doll has already taken place.
