The company used an eight-axle Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 mobile crane to raise the load, which was then mounted and fastened by steel construction specialists.

Due to corrosion damage, the old cupola cross was taken down in December 2006. The damage proved to be irreparable and thus a new one was built by a Bavaria, Germany fabricator. The new 15m-high, 12.5t structure was plated with 1.5 kg of gold foil by specialists from Berlin.

The new cross had to be lifted to a hook height of 100m at a radius of 65m. For this task the LTM 1500-8.1 had to be erected with 50m of telescopic boom, 77m luffing fly-jib, Y-suspension backmast and 135t of counterweight.
