When a light aircraft crashed into a barn in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA in January, injuring two of the four passengers, a knuckle-boom truck loader crane was the appropriate tool to fish it out.
An Effer 550 with six main boom sections and four jib sections was used to reach down and pick out the load.
This crane can lift 800kg at its maximum horizontal outreach of 26.6m. At closer reach, it can lift a maximum load of 3550kg up to a height of 25m from the ground.
