Family-owned businesses Emmert International and Fagioli SpA have formed a 50/50 joint venture for specialised heavy transportation and lifting projects in the Americas.
Fagioli PSC USA Inc, established in 1999, will drop its contracting activities and instead become a representative office of its Italian parent company Fagioli SpA.
The new company, Emmert PSC, will bid for for projects involving movement of components that require self-propelled modular trailers (SPMTs), strand jacks and large component tower lifts. Fagioli has 400 axle lines of Scheuerle SPMTs worldwide.
By taking over the order book of Fagioli PSC USA, it already has jobs secured for 2004, 2005 and 2007, said Fagioli PSC USA managing director John Jackson.
Emmert International will continue to offer specialised transport and rigging services worldwide.
Jackson added that both companies were putting a lot of money and equipment into the new joint venture. He said that joining with Emmert would help Fagioli PSC USA widen its customer base to new regions and into civil engineering and construction. To date, it has worked mainly in the energy sector, he said.
Emmert PSC is based in Danbury, Texas and is managed by Terry Michael Emmert, son of Emmert International founder Terry W Emmert.
