Industrial engineering and equipment rental company Engineered Rigging has expanded its selection of robotic dollies by adding five models from Foxtrot Industriel to address growing demand in the US industrial sector.
This move comes as industrial construction activity in the US, including development of data centres, warehouses, manufacturing sites and renewable energy plants, has reached record levels, according to the US Department of Treasury.
The company began offering the Foxtrot SOLO 20 powered skate in December and has now added four further models, bringing the total number of Foxtrot motorised skates available through Engineered Rigging to five.
The Foxtrot range is designed for indoor use and allows for movement of heavy machinery in environments where forklift access is not practical.
Manufactured in North America, these robotic dollies operate on batteries and are remote controlled, enabling navigation through narrow aisles and tight spaces typically found in industrial facilities.
The available models span load capacities from 10t to 60t, with options for both rental and purchase.
SOLO 10, the smallest model, weighs 99lb and is capable of transporting loads up to 10t. It provides up to four hours of operation on a single battery charge.
The SOLO 20, which marked the start of the partnership, moves up to 20t and features a battery that can be replaced while under load.
The SOLO 20’s load capacity can be doubled to 40t using the BRIDGE 40 attachment.
For heavier loads, the SOLO 60 can handle up to 60t and incorporates a low-profile design and an integrated brake.
The fifth model, TANGO, is designed for applications requiring both vertical and lateral movement, with a built-in lifting system supporting loads up to 10t vertically and up to 20t laterally.
Engineered Rigging says it works with clients to determine suitable equipment based on specific project needs.
Engineered Rigging vice president Mike Beres said: “Meeting the needs of our clients is always priority number one.
“By combining the high-tech features of Foxtrot’s robotic dollies with Engineered Rigging’s machinery moving expertise, we are able to help clients meet the rigorous demands of a modern industrial plant.”
Customisation of the Foxtrot dollies is available for complex situations through the company’s engineering and fabrication team.
Technical support and equipment training are offered as part of Engineered Rigging’s service.
