“I’m excited to be back in the construction industry.  I am looking forward to meeting up with all my old contacts and of course making plenty of new ones,” Dalrymple said.

The US-born business journalist, 31, worked for 18 months as assistant editor on Cranes Today until October 2004, when he became editor of the factory crane spinoff magazine Hoist.  He will continue to oversee the editorial department of Hoist magazine.

He takes over from acting editor Richard Howes, who has managed the magazine during the interim period.  He will be working alongside sales colleagues Steve Bromley (group advertisement manager), Mark Bridger (business development manager) and Kate Hearn (classified sales executive).

“I am delighted to welcome Will as editor of Cranes Today,” said publishing director David Wildman.  “I know that he will be a tremendous asset to the magazine.  His work in cranes publishing over the last three years puts him in an ideal place to take on the role,” he said.

“Over the past two years, we have put in place the strongest team in cranes publishing.  With Will, I am sure that the magazine will reach new heights,” he said.
