The Italian manufacturer said that Fassi Gru and Cranab AB would seek to create an internationally competitive group that offers equipment and technology dedicated to the economic development of the forestry sector throughout its chain: from reforestation to the controlled exploitation of forests, including the logistics phase of handling of the raw material.
Cranab owns several businesses within the forestry sector including Slagkraft specialists in forwarders/fellers and Vimek who make small to medium sized tractors for harvesters. As well as Bracke Forest AB. a machinery production company for the regeneration and the exploitation of forests
Fassi Gru explained that this investment is part of the same strategy that saw it invest in Marrel, the French hook lift, skip loader, tipper scissor and hydraulic cylinder manufacturer. It will expand Fassi’s business in a specific sector, namely that of equipment dedicated to the movement of timber, thus enhancing its range in the transportation sector with highly specialised machines.
Cranab has also received investment from Z-forest, one of the largest investment funds controlled by the Swedish government.
