The Italian manufacturer said that the foldable bucket allowed the cranes body to be free from obstructions and made it easier to work underneath the hopper. It added that this would be an advantage once a directive requiring the body of equipment used to carry crumbly materials be covered comes into play in Europe. The crane also features a reversed folding outer boom that minimises its overall dimensions when completely folded.
The new model also has a single chain ram assembled inside the outer boom. Fassi said this was achieved thanks to an optimised use of available space that allowed all the hoses to be fitted inside the booms.
On display at the tradeshow was the cranes basic configuration, with a third control station and a Hydrocontrol parallel distributor. The manufacturer said that a version was also planned with Danfoss compensated proportional distributor and RCH/RCS radio remote control. Fassi said that the GAS (Grab Automatic Shake) device had been developed with software control of the bucket movements while unloading materials. The firm said that the advantages included the complete management of opening and closing movements, smooth movements at high speeds, with no uncontrolled reactions.
