Managing director Andreas Faust said, “Here in the Hunsrück region, our clients have lots of small, confined construction sites. The compact dimensions of the CBR and its excellent load capacity of the jib were the decisive factors for us. We were also impressed by the ease of operation and the outstanding craftsmanship.”
Faust was founded as a Bosch service company in 2000, and rapidly grew into a general plant fleet, with 250 pieces of equipment, including crawler cranes. This year, the firm plans to move into the tower crane hire business. Andreas Faust says, “The expansion of the Frankfurt-Hahn Airport since 2002 caused a regional boom in construction. In 2003 I took the opportunity to develop our second business unit, namely the rental of construction machinery. I come from the workshop business, so I know how important perfect service is to my customers.
“Thus we are also investing a lot in the training of our 13 staff members. The building of the new Frankfurt airport terminal in 2010, the railway connection between Hahn and Frankfurt and the four-lane expansion of the B50 motorway will give us plenty to do in the next few years in the construction business. When the tower crane business is established, we’ll also be able to support our customers in recycling and in the rental of truck loading cranes.”
The new Terex-Comedil will be joining Faust’s new tower fleet. The crane has a standard hook height of 21.6m with a reach of 28m. The maximum load capacity is 2.5t and the jib can handle loads of up to 90kg. Using its standard luffing jib, the CBR 28 Plus can reach a hook height of 26.5m at a radius of 27m. With the jib folded down, the reach is 14.4m with a lifting capacity of 2.3t.
The CBR Plus series consists of a ready-to-assemble transport unit with a tower and jib package, full reeving equipment and central ballast. The control cabinets are integrated in the central ballast and the engines are fully panelled. The tower and boom are hot-galvanized as standard. A transport axle equipped with ABE is available for road travel. The crane has a total length of 13.6m and a transport height of only 3m. The combination of the road travel axle, a transport weight of 12.8t, a steering angle of 90° and a wheelbase of 5.3m facilitates optimal maneuverability, even in the most confined job sites, Terex says.
