NMT crane hire has added the 100-tonner to its fleet in an attempt to provide a compact crane suitable for sites with tight space restrictions.
The German manufacturer claims that the AC100/4L is the only 4-axle crane with a standard truck width of 2.55m and a 3.9m height profile on 16.00R25 tyres, enabling compliance with EU road regulations.
Capable of lifting 80t at 3m, the AC100/4L features a 59.4m telescopic main boom with a double fold-away jib that can add between 10m and 19m of additional reach.
It also complies with UK axle loading limits with 21.3t of counterbalance on board in addition to the fly jib.
NMT managing director Mark Ambridge said: “This new Terex model is designed for the tightest locations and the heaviest loads, and can go places other 4-axle cranes simply cannot go. It’s something we know our customers will appreciate.”
Terex regional sales manager, Andrew Snow, is confident that this will be the first of many sales of AC100/4L cranes to UK customers.
He comments: “Offering greater manoeuvrability and flexibility, compact cranes with long booms are fast becoming the norm in the marketplace.
Snow adds: “On the evidence so far, the AC 100/4L is set to make a major impact in the UK.”
