Spanish tower crane manufacturer Comansa has launched Crane Mate, a digital fleet management solution. The system debuted at the recent Bauma trade show in Germany.

The digital solution for fleet management and crane monitoring provides real time technical information, location, alerts, and crane productivity and maintenance parameters. It also makes it possible to report and configure events and record machinery lease periods. According to Comansa this translates to increased efficiency and time and cost savings.

In addition to crane fleet management, specific functionality includes: analysis and verification of hours worked, productivity and crane life; error supervision and real time alarms; plus personalised data reports. Comansa says the system has been designed to be easily integrated with third party information technology platforms.

Crane Mate consists of two elements: hardware and software. The turnkey hardware comes pre-installed in the cranes and is made up of commercial devices that are easy to maintain or replace, if required. The hardware can also be retrofitted to existing cranes.

The software platform, developed in-house by Comansa, offers restricted, secure online access. It has a display showing the crane's settings and functions, plus other information.

All new Comansa tower cranes orders will be equipped with Crane Mate as of this month (October 2022) and the company is offering free trials, online tutorials and technical support for its clients.
