Geda transport platforms from the German manufacturer Geda-Dechentreiter GmbH serve two functions – material hoist and transport platform for personnel and material.

The reversible transport platforms Geda 500 Z/ZP and Geda 1500 Z/ZP can be switched over for use either as a building hoist or as a goods and passenger lift up to a standard height of 100m.

The platform is operated with dead-man-control from the platform itself and the building hoist is operated either from ground level or from the building’s floors above.

The single-mast guided Geda 500 Z/ZP can carry up to 500kg (or three people) in transport platfom mode and up to 850kg as a materials hoist. The Geda 1500 Z/ZP is twin-mast guided and carries 1,500kg (seven people) as a transport platform or up to 2,000kg of material in hoist mode.

There is a choice of lifting speed, in order to comply with German directives. Until now, 12m/min was the maximum speed that people could be transported, while material could travel at 24m/min. Now 24m/min for people is also permitted.

Geda cites ease of handling and operating as a benefit of its systems. The single steel mast segments weigh 40kg and so can be erected by two people. This mast system can be used with all Geda rack and pinion hoists from 500kg to 2,000kg as well as for the mast-climbing platforms MCP 750/MCP 1500.

A modular design means that customers can choose from three platform sizes for 500 Z/ZP and 12 platform sizes for 1500 Z/ZP with a floor space from 2.4m2 up to 7.2m2. The platform variants can be fitted with different loading doors and unloading ramps to adapt to the building site.
