Worldwide sales of German all terrain cranes bounced back slightly in 2003 after the dramatic fall in 2002 of 19%.

Industry figures show that total sales of the German manufacturers was around 1,950 units last year, a 4% increase on the 1,870 units shipped in 2002.

German all terrain crane sales peaked in 2001 at 2,300 units, following sales of 2,160 in 2000. In no other years have sales ever topped 2,000 units.

Notable among the statistics is the continuing growth in popularity of larger ATs. Some than 260 units rated at 200t or above were sold last year. The 21st century has already seen shipments of 200t+ all terrains pass 1,000 units. In the five years 1995 to 1999 little more than half that amount were sold.
