Karoline Goldhofer-Prützel, owner of the trailer manufacturer founded by her late father Alois Goldhofer in 1946, is transferring ownership of the company to a foundation to safeguard its future. First step was making Goldhofer a joint stock company in March.
New chief executive Stefan Fuchs explained that giving ownership to the Alois Goldhofer Foundation safeguarded the founder’s dream of maintaining Goldhofer as an independent company.
Mrs Goldhofer-Prützel has no heirs to take over management of the company in the future. Fuchs said that extending shares to the 460 employees at a later date is an option, as is an initial public offering.
