CELEBRATIONS on 21 September marked the opening of a new sales and service centre for Deutsche Grove at Langenfeld near Düsseldorf in Germany.
The company says that new workshops are the most important part of the development as this is where used mobile cranes can be repaired and rebuilt prior to their resale around the world.
Covering 3,900m2 the new workshop has five full length bays with inspection pits and can accommodate 20 cranes. There are areas for cleaning, sheet metal work, welding and painting. Major component repairs are done in designated areas and there is an engine test bed with dynamometer.
The 22 hectare site has a 2,400m2 outdoor area for testing and customer demonstrations. There are also two linked office blocks with better employee accommodation and new service training rooms.
