Havator is set to install the frame and roof elements, the girders, the arch structures and the outer wall elements of the new area; this totals approximately 20,000 various elements.
Four or five mid-size crawlers will be used, including Liebherr (LR 1160 and LR 1250) and Sennebogen units. There will be up to five teams working at any one time from inside the structure.
Jussi Yli-Niemi, CEO of Havator Group, said: “We have a long history of cooperation with Betongmästarna i Sverige, and we are very pleased that they have chosen us as their installation partner for this demanding project. In addition to the installation work, installation cranes are part of our delivery scope.”
Ordered by PEAB Sverige AB, Betongmästarna i Sverige will deliver the frame structures from Stockholmsarena. The arena developer is the City of Stockholm via SGA Fastigheter AB, a city-owned company.
Stockholmsarena is a sports and event centre with a capacity of 30,000; the new arena will be located next to Globen, with the agreement valued at €6m. The project has an expected timescale of 10 months and is set to begin in November.
