The company employs 2,000 staff out of 102 depots, nationwide. According to Cranes Today Fleet File 2007, the company has about 250 mobile cranes.

Seven million working hours have now passed without there being a lost time incident caused by a motor vehicle accident (MVA).

“Reaching this milestone is a fantastic achievement for Hewden and is a big boost not only for us but also for our customers” says Tom Corrigan, Head of Safety and Quality Services at Hewden.

“It shows that our efforts to ensure health and safety permeates throughout the entire company have paid off and our customers can be reassured that their safety is as important to us as it is them,” continues Corrigan.

Hewden’s internal health and safety programme includes regular monthly EH&S meetings between senior management and heads of business and an ongoing training schedule for managers in the use of Hewden’s Safety Management System.
