Cargotec plans to develop a new operating model for Hiab and Kalmar, which will see their sales and service operations merged into three regions: Cargotec Americas, Cargotec Asia-Pacific and Cargotec EMEA. Cargotec EMEA will become effective from 1 July.
These will come under a new Customer Operations organisation, which is to be headed up by Pekka Vauramo, who will continue in his role as deputy CEO and member of the executive board.
Cargotec added its current business structure of Hiab, Kalmar, MacGregor and services segments will remain in place for the time being, as it looks to continue its On the Move programme of change. As a result, the number of employees affected by the planned changes will “depend on the future operating model”. External financial reporting will continue unchanged “at least through 2009”.
On the Move was launched in February 2008 to progress Cargotec’s ‘One Company’ strategy, increase operational efficiency and enhance its customer focus.
