The prize, awarded for the seventh time this year, goes to a person, or group of people, that has developed the organisation, product, system, technology, method, tools or other form of aid, that sets an example and contributes to development with the assembly area. The jury said:

“Production control of complex flows of many variants in small portions is a challenge. Tomas Blomberg has worked in a targeted and structured manner to make the right information available for production personnel at the right time. Personnel can simply and clearly see what is to be produced and when. This has made production predictable and, consequently, easy to control. Lead-times have been shortened considerably, which has resulted in increased delivery reliability. At the same time, a platform for reduction of inventories and goods in progress has been created. Through systematic and defined goals, Tomas Blomberg has carried out development work in an area of major importance for many Swedish companies. His work sets and example for Swedish industry.”

The prize comprises a glass sculpture by artist Ebba von Wachenfeldt and SEK 20,000 (Euro 2,100). The prize is awarded by Svenskt Monteringsforum, a network of persons active with development and problem solving within the assembly area.
