The XS 1055 will be the highest capacity crane in Hiab’s range and, with a capacity 92.2tm, or 25t maximum lift, it will rival some smaller all terrains, for some lifts. Fitted with a ten extension E-10 HiPro boom, the crane can lift 2,500kg at 23.8m, or 18,000kg at 4.4m.

With an eight extension E-8 HiPro boom and a five plus one extension jib, the crane can lift 1,060kg with boom and jib fully extended. In this configuration the boom can be luffed back to 70°. At this boom angle, the jib can be used either to reach a tip height of 31.5m at 10m radius, or repositioned to just over 17m radius, with a tip height of almost 22m.

For access into enclosed spaces, the jib can work at a negative angle. In this configuration, it can lift 1,240kg at 29m on five hydraulic extensions, or 1,020kg on an extra manual extension taking the total reach to more than 30m.

Sergio Peiró, product manager for the crane, said, “The XS 1055 has been designed from the drawing board to deliver increased profitability to customers loading construction materials, containers, mobile offices and other heavy materials. A top benefit of the new range is the excellent energy balance in combination with the variable pump, which delivers customers reduced fuel consumption, less contamination and better profitability.”

The crane features new extension cylinders and a regenerative load holding valve, for faster extension speed. Soft sealed fittings withstand vibration, and can handle pressures up to 40MPa. The company claims that its HiPro control system is ‘the most advanced control system on the truck-crane market today’.

In the mid range, the new XS 211 is the highest capacity crane Hiab has yet built suitable for use on a two-axle carrier. “The new XS 211 fills the capacity gap between Hiab’s XS 166 and XS 244 cranes,” says Leif Törnblom, product manager for the mid range loader cranes. “It incorporates technological solutions that have been tried and tested across Hiab’s extensive XS ranges as well as some new productivity enhancing features.”

The XS 211 has a capacity of 210.4kNm (21.5m) when fitted with an E-1 HiPro jib. It can lift loads of up to 8,300kg, or 8,900kg with a heavy lift attachment. With a six extension E-6 HiPro boom and three extension 45X-3 jib, the crane can lift 120kg to a maximum radius of almost 25m, or 440kg to a height of over 25m and radius of 8m.

The HIAB XS 211 offers users two optional boom systems, including the X-feature (EP and E as used in the HIAB XS 244) and up to eight hydraulic extensions. This provides added reach compared to the five extensions available with the HIAB XS 166 and HIAB 200C/220C.
