The 8x4m Mercedes 4155 tractor unit with the Italian-made Effer 2055, supplied by Atlas Crane UK Ltd, utilises six boom extensions to provide a maximum reach and lift capacity of 30,000kg at 4.51m and 8,550kg at 15.25m. The tractor unit has a maximum axle load of 16,500kg and a gross vehicle weight of 150 tonnes.
Collett already has lorry loaders in its fleet, but the high lifting capacity of the Effer 2055 gives it new possibilities in providing lifting solutions. The company claims the machine is the largest of its kind in Europe.
