A selection of cranes will be used for the photo shoot with banksmen, crane drivers, and other male and female industry personnel signing up to model for the calendar.

Rental firms Lee Lifting, Millennium Crane Hire, G H Johnsons Crane Hire, Fairview Crane Hire and Eagle Crane Hire have already signed up to supply five of the 12 cranes wanted for the calendar.

Tristram Mayes, managing director at High Drive Recruitment, said that the firm has had lots of encouragement for the calendar and their fundraising efforts for the charity.

“Everyone’s said that it is a fantastic idea. We’ve done the research and although companies like Ainscough do their own calendars, there’s not really anything lighthearted out there, which is what this will be.

“We are still waiting for some other firms to confirm they will help, but ideally we would like a different crane for each month. We’ll be happy for any help, but a couple of small to mid-sized crawlers would be nice.”

The firm is still looking for a few cranes to use for the remaining few months of the calendar, along with some models, and although the shoot was initially postponed due to bad weather it will now go ahead with some shots indoors.

When finished, each calendar will retail for around £9.99 with all proceeds going to ‘Help for Heroes’.
