Hinspeter Cranes has received the first Tadano ATF 220G-5 all terrain crane in Australia
The continual expansion at Hinspeter Cranes is a strong reflection of the ongoing boom throughout Queensland’s crane industry. With nine ATs cranes from Liebherr and Demag already working in the Hinspeter hire fleet, the first and largest Tadano recruit had big expectations to meet.
“We needed another crane to keep up with the demand in our local area so I decided to try out the new Tadano Faun range of all terrain cranes,” said Greg Hinspeter.
“Our purchase decision was based on the performance, hand in hand capability and versatility of the ATF 220G-5. The length of boom and compact nature of the design was also a selling point. The only other all terrain crane which came close to the Tadano was a Grove but this 220 tonne model did not suit our specifications.”
Local refinery maintenance projects have made up the bulk of the work for the new Hinspeter Tadano, but the new 220 tonne crane will play out a more general lifting role at the Currajong based crane hire business.
“Even though the European inspired layout will take us a little while to get used to, the ATF 220G-5 is already proving to be a very user friendly machine,” Hinspeter said. “Our drivers are saying it is very good to operate.”
The Tadano ATF 220G-5 has a 7-stage, 68m boom. It is controlled by two electric joystick levers for simultaneous operation.
The 10×8 drive carrier features a Mercedes Benz 8 cylinder, water cooled diesel engine delivering 390kW and 2400Nm of torque.
