Hitachi has developed a an 8t capacity telescopic crawler crane based on its ZX160 excavator chassis. Designed for small applications in construction, industrial service, or rental, the ZX160CLT is 2.5m wide, and weighs 15.5t.
Hitachi says that, since the crane does not have separate stabilisers, it can be used for pick and carry operations.
Safety devices on the crane include a moment limiter, working radius limit device, hook-overhead prevention device, and load-ratio outer indication lamp.
The first two units have been sold to UK-based NRC Plant Hire.
