Administrators from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) have said that they are hopeful that they will have agreed a sale of the business of UK crawler crane manufacturer RB International by the end of October.

Bids for the business, which was placed into administration by its owners on 3 July, closed on 15 September.

Chris Pillar, spokesman for PWC, said: “We received a number of bids to keep the business as a going concern.” He confirmed that the number of bids was more than two, but would not reveal exactly how many.

No bids have been accepted at this stage from parties seeking either to break up the business or to purchase only the intellectual property.

Pillar expressed confidence that no such bids would have to be called for, given the bids now on the table.

“We are optimistic that we will get to the altar with someone who will keep it as a going concern,” he said.
