Dutch gantry crane manufacturer Bollegraaf has installed a rail mounted container gantry crane at the Hoyer terminal in the port of Rotterdam. Lifting the crane into place was carried out back in August by mobile crane rental company Riwal using three Liebherr all terrain cranes – an LTM 1300 (300t), an LTM 1200 (200t) and an LTM 1060 (60t). Scope of work included the rotation, assembly and erection of the main girder and its four legs. The two bigger Liebherrs lifted a total of 85t of steel while the smaller one was used for guiding and steering the loads. A 28m JLG 860SJ boomlift was also supplied for fixing joints and bolts. The container gantry crane is 20m tall, has a lift height of 14m and spans 52m. Safe working load is 10t and it runs on a 120m long rail track.
