Modulift spreaders at work in Iceland
All of the spreader beams come from the Modulift Heavy range, which is designed for various applications such as heavy boat lifting, plant and machinery handling. Mod 70 has a span capability of up to 12 metres in increments of 500mm and a maximum load capacity of 70 tonnes at 9 metres span. The Mod 70H features the same dimensions but offers a greater load capacity at 100 tonnes up to 8 metres span. The Mod 34 has a span capability of up to 8 metres and a maximum lifting capacity of 34 tonnes. It can be handled manually, safely by two people.
“Atlantsskip and Eimskip are now using Modulift spreaders for all kinds of lifting projects, including regular container lifting,” comments Stefan Jonasson of Isfell. “The Modulift system is ideal for loads of different shapes and size, such as mobile cranes and plant machinery. Both firms are more than happy with the flexibility that Modulift provides as the length of the beam can be changed with ease for different lifting projects.”
The Modulift range comprises 15 systems, which provide lifting capacity for weights between 2 – 3,000 tonnes and lengths from 200mm – 53m. The system is used for the smallest maintenance work to the largest lifting jobs in many industry sectors.
