Following a blaze at Ironbridge power station in Shropshire, UK rental company Initial GWS Crane Hire supplied a pair of 300t Demag HC 920s, a 225t Liebherr LTM 1225 and a 200t Demag AC 615. All were deployed equipped with luffing fly jibs.
The four telescopic mobile cranes, working in close proximity, were used to remove fire-damaged roof sections in order to prevent further damage to the turbines.
The lifting work was co-ordinated by project manager Reach Environmental Ltd for the power station’s owner, Eastern Generation.
